Police respond to 2 reports of child abuse in one day
In a single day, Janesville police respond to two different reports of felony child abuse, taking three people into custody, and three children to the hospital.
Janesville police say they responded to a residence on the 600 block of Lincoln Street just before 10:30 Wednesday morning while investigating a report of ongoing child abuse.
Four children were removed from that home and placed into protective custody. A 12-year-old child had to be treated at local hospital.
Police arrested 35-year-olds Jorge Huesca-Martinez, and Aurora Martinez-Chimal for felony child abuse.
Later, just after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday Janesville police were dispatched to an apartment on the 1300 block of North Washington Street for a report of possible child abuse.
Police say two children were found to have visible injuries all over their bodies, and that the injuries had been inflicted using various instruments over an eight hour time period.
The two children were taken to a local hospital and police executed a search warrant on the residence on Washington Street.
Authorities say they found several items that they believe were used to cause blunt force trauma to the children.
23-year-old Brandon L Quinn of Janesville was placed under arrest for felony physical abuse to a child causing great bodily harm.
