Janesville will be getting a little state help in revitalizing the downtown. The city has been accepted into the state's Connect Communities Program. City Economic Development Coordinator Ryan Garcia says the program should compliment revitalization efforts already underway. The program should offer a number of successful examples from other communities, as well as, training resources. The Connect Communities Program is designed to complement the Wisconsin Main Street Program, which has supported projects statewide, resulting in the creation of more than 45-hundred new businesses, since 1987.
