The Rock County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal accident on Highway 81 in the Newark Township. Deputies responded to the two vehicle accident at South Olson Road a little after 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.
The Sheriff's Office reports a 71-year-old motorist from Beloit was stopped in traffic, while waiting to turn into a private driveway. Deputies say the driver of a semi pulling a bulk tanker hauling liquid fertilizer was unable to stop, and clipped the right rear of the stopped car. The semi ended up rolling in the ditch, trapping the driver, 75-year-old Willard Trewyn of Janesville. Trewyn was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the car were unhurt. Authorities say it took until past 10:00 o'clock to clear the incident.
