Free school lunch for all Beloit students

Fewer kids may go hungry in Beloit once the school year starts.  District spokesperson Melissa Badger says 77% of students already qualify for free or reduced priced meals, but starting this school year, breakfast and lunch will be offered for free.  Badger says the district qualified for funding through the Community Eligibility Provision , which is part of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.  She says district officials say it's important because hungry kids have a hard time learning.
