Snow Angels

By Rose Stricker ( Contact )   March 4, 2008

Milton has an angel. A snow angel, if you will.

He takes the form of a man in a brown hooded jacket pushing a snow blower.

On January 22nd, when school was delayed 2 hours due to heavy snowfall, this angel appeared on my sidewalk after plowing through our neighbor’s walk. This snow angel cut a path to the corner, crossed the street, and continued on to the end of the block.

I don’t know who he was, where he came from, or where he went, but he left a clear walkway as far as I could see.

I do know he doesn’t live in my neighborhood because he didn’t double back to get to his own house. He simply passed through and kept on going!

Early February, when 800 vehicles were stranded on I-90 and most everyone else was stuck at home, our angel was back.

Does this man know the lady next door is a widow? Does he know the man up the street has heart problems and can’t shovel his own walk? Was he thinking of the students who walk to school in the morning?

Where does he come from? How far does he go? Why does he do it?

I don’t really want to know the answer to those questions. But I’d like him to know that someone noticed, and many people appreciated his generosity.

Is there a snow angel in your neighborhood? Feel free to leave a note of thanks here. Name names if you wish.

I do the samthing for my neighbors. I live midblock and have found it easier when clearing the snow off the walk in front of my house to go to the end of the block. It is easier than trying to turn the snowblower around or backing it up. Also then everyones walk is clear to pavement.I am sure the Mail carrier, Police officer, Paperperson, Firefighters and paramedics all apprecaite when they can walk on dry pavement.Remember also even though were closing in on the end of winter to keep those fire hydrants clear of snow.

That's nice! I try and do the same. I live on a corner block and snow blow past my house and get the ones next to me. Sounds like this person is plowin' the whole neighborhood though! Send him my way.
