The Revolving Door at Parker High School
Four coaches in eight years, that is what is facing the Janesville Parker boys basketball program with the resignation late last week of Jim LeMire.
LeMire gave up the job for "personal reasons" after just two years at the helm. LeMire was previous coach Scott Lee's assistant and was elevated when Lee resigned, after just a few years.
It's getting to the point that the program will never have any consistancy. You can't expect to build a program, much less have success,if there is constant change.
While I don't blame any one for the changes,it is not just a problem at Parker. The rigors of being a head coach in basketball has led to burnout for many. It is not just a three or four month job now. It is year round and that has kept many from coaching.
As for the Parker program, they need to find someone who is willing to stick it out and the administration has to stick with him when times are tough. And that means, while parents may not be happy, give the coach the support he needs.
The road is not going to be easy,it hasn't been easy for the past 20 years for that matter. But,a committment has to be made. That committment has to come from all sides, the coach, the coaching staff, the administration and the parents. You want the players to play as a team, the same has to be done by those in charge.

Why doesn't Klawitter take over the boys program?
