Janesville Senior Center Parking

By Stan Milam ( Contact )   July 9, 2008

Janesville Senior Center staff members say patrons are having a tough time finding parking spaces near the facility. There are 108 parking slots adjacent to the center. The city should designated 40 or 50 spaces for Senior Center use only. What do you think?

All it would take is a sticker issued by the senior center to be placed in their car window. No sticker? A ticket

I would imagine that soon after they finish the parking ramp that is in the planning stages now people will park there and free up some spaces in the lot by the senior center. Even though I would agree with marking 50 spaces for the center, but how could you tell if the car belongs to someone visiting the center or not and how would it be enforced. The Janesville police don't have the time to enforce the illegal loud exhaust and boomer cars so how could they have the time to enforce this?

why not build a parking ramp on the site of the old jail? Then it would free up the spaces near the senior center for that purpose.
