Tomatoes: Part 2

By Al Fagerli ( Contact )   September 3, 2008

A while back I was kind of whinning about the state of my tomato patch. The wet weather earlier gave way to dry weather and the cool summer has slowed the growth. The Fagerli tomato patch is bringing a few every few days. I have plenty of blossoms, but will they be able to mature before the fall freeze is a big question. While I jokingly complain,I feel very bad for our farmers. The growing season of 2008 will go down as one they would soon forget. Growing tomatoes in my backyard is not dependent on whether my family has food for dinner or not. For our farmers,it is their life's work.
