I don't see why the downtown area is such an issue. It's what about 4 blocks long. Go to almost any other small to medium sized city and you will see the same thing. A few antique or consignment shops, a couple of restaurants and a bar or two. Like any other downtown area there is no place to park and people are far to self absorbed and/or lazy to walk half a block. As for the fighting outside the "young adult" bars, make security the responsibility of the bar owner. This is one of the few towns I have been to that bars with "problems" don't hire off duty police officers (at there expense) to handle security. Bouncers are one thing, officers in uniforms carrying a gun is another.

So now WCLO is on the Walker hating Gazette bandwagon. Nice bias, you post a pole asking who you would vote for in a recall election and then only offer one option for choices. Jeez, I wonder what the results will be. Shame on you.

You have to take the poll statistics in stride, I am sure all the anti Walkerites will vote 2 or 3 times.

If you and I can access this information so can the criminals. An intelligent criminal (they are out there) will figure out how to use this to their advantage. Another case of TMI (too much information)

On Should information about recent police activity should be quick and easy to access online?

Great question SarahB1! If someone doesn't get an organized opposition to this issue going real soon, it is going to get shoved right down our throats. The last couple of articles on the subject sure make it sounds like it's a done deal. There are way to many unanswered questions.

If someone is starting a petition against this move, please post. I'm thinking more than a few people might want to get on board.

After reading today's article: Way too much for a newspaper. Court TV maybe, but anyone, any age can pick up the Gazette. Do the words" Rest in peace" not mean anything in today's society.

I think l the legalization of weed may be light years away. I think a viable alternative would be to de-criminalize it like others states. That would make possesion of a less than a certain amount, a misdemeanor offence as opposed to a felony.

On Do you support the legalization of marijuana?
