Wow...can't imagine a community, big or small, without a library. I love and use ours more than ever before in my life and really appreciate being able to go to both Beloit and Janesville. Sure sounds like desperate measures are being applied in Philly and can't help but wonder about the real reasoning behind such a drastic decision. Sure hope it's a bluff, for everyone's sake, from patrons to employees.

An article about this in the Beloit Daily News is much more detailed. But, I'm wondering if you have to be of the same sex to do this domestic partner registration. And if so, why? It sounds like it gives you decent rights and would be alot less complicated if the partnership dissolved, as in more user friendly and would keep lawyers out of the picture and your pocket.

I spotted a first for me last week...a rufous-sided towhee, which I at first mistook for an oriole. It is black and orange, also, but has a white underside. I have my hummer feeder out, but haven't spotted any yet. Glad to hear the little gippers are back. I found a hummer feeder at Wal-Mart that is a very simple design and comes completely apart for cleaning. Made by a company called "First Nature", and believe it or not, made in the USA!!!
