I'd say that seeing a local radio personality is more a "sight" than a TV personality. I had the opportunity to see a guy you work with from 10-11:30 for the first time outside a local bike shop last Friday. He was dropping words that were just outside of George Carlin's 7 words...right in front of my 4-year-old daughter. It's so interesting to see how the off-air personality compares to the on-air. Stay classy, Janesville.

Well written, Mr. Bremel.

Yes, my username is localmatters but I haven't purchased a car in Janesville in over 10 years. Why? The same reason as Mr. Bremel...and then some. Although I HATE shopping for cars, the best deals have come in Madison and Rockford. I can't wait until it warms up so I can start riding the bike to work and save the miles. More money in my pocket and less of my "least favorite" pastime -- shopping for cars.

Requiring insurance will do nothing but increase everyone's premiums. Wisconsin liability insurance is one of the lowest in the country. Illinois? One of the highest (they require everyone to obtain insurance). If you properly insure yourself, there is no need to worry. I like it the way we have it rather than having my premium padded by those who cannot afford insurance due to poor driving records. For those who currently cannot afford insurance, they are taking a risk. Fortunately, if you hit me I'm properly insured...you'll have to deal with the damage on your car on your own however.

I agree Stan. As a long-time resident who lost many school friends to Fort Wayne back in the mid-80's, I'm glad Mr. Scheiffer stepped up to the plate and helped plan a long-term strategy some 20 years ago. Best of luck to him...and I hope Mr. Messer gets an opportunity to interview for the position. I'm really impressed with his involvement.

On How would you described Janesville City Manager Steve Sheiffer's 20-year performance as the city's top executive?

So, what can we expect for part 2?

Politics: I'd like more information (guests) from Rock County Supervisors. In addition, I'd like to hear more representatives from Milton and Beloit councils.

Schools: Considering Janesville and Milton residents may be facing another referendum, I'd like more dialogue on the Milton School District.

Listener Involvement: I like open mic. Is it possible to have an occasional "novice" man the mic with Stan when giving an interview (once a month sort of thing)? This may give the average listener more of a voice.

Other than that...keep up the good work of informing our community.

Rather than expensing out every mile, copy, etc (which would be an admin. nightmare),wouldn't it be easier and possibly more cost effective to give our elected officials a reasonable salary for their duties?

I didn't see a place for tipping your friendly radio announcer or show producer.

On How much do you tip for the holidays?
