Two answers to our posters:
1) WCLO does not stream its live signal due to the incredible amount of "unstreamable" program content we have from network sources. However, a majority of our local content is available on demand on our audio page.

2) Last month's (June) Game Day Sports show was promoted on air for two weeks as well as in the Janesville Gazette - so I'm unsure where our poster was. This week's show (july) has not finalized its line-up yet and will be promoted once the line-up is complete. We do not use our website, traditionally, to promote single event broadcasts.

Thanks for your comments -- keep listening!

Would you please tell Stan that his producer's blog has a great message for his listeners? [lol}

Seriously, Rose has a tough job... and if you realize that she is in the same studio as Stan with no isolation, you realize how difficult it is for her to carry on any length of a conversation. So please, everyone -- just don't be shy and participate in the show. Its fun!!

I appreciate the discussion here. Thanks to those of you who offer productive ideas. Unfortunately, there's no good that can come out of the terse and cutting comments some folks are choosing to post.

I'm glad to see recognition of the contrast between Stan Milam and Laura. That was actually one of the many reasons we chose her in the first place.

Progressive talk is something we continue to explore... but with little success due to our sports schedule.

Sporting news radio is one for us to look at.

And unfortunately, other than CNN Headline news, I am not aware of any other news network that offers 24/7 programming we could latch on to.

Keep the discussion going. Thanks!

I appreciate the insight to the McDonalds case. And perhaps its an extreme I should not have used.
However, the fact remains -- we all pay the price for these ridiculous lawsuits. Even if you discount the McDonalds suit -- cases that make the news like the man (governor or mayor I believe) who sued his drycleaner for losing his pants, and cases filed where a person can simply "clean up" because of a mistake or accident - cost us ALL. Look at the incredible malpractice premiums doctors pay -- and you know they're not simply paying more, they're passing it on. Insurance premiums for many other businesses are increasing as well.

So back to my original thought -- If the school district did not have to constantly be peering over their shoulder in case a student dropped a bowling ball on their foot during a school sponsored activity and the parents sued for who knows what amount for "future loss of income" or all the other eventualities, would they then be able to give these students the recognition they deserve?

I believe they would.

I also believe that the "loser pays" philosophy could be legislated in such a way that true injury lawsuits (if you want to argue that in the McDonalds case) could be accommodated.

(Although, I'm pretty sure the average person does not know the actual temperature of a cup of coffee... and if you spill that cup -- or any cup of hot liquid, you certainly don't expect it to leave you with a warm feeling and nothing more).

To mcs and doc0430:
I find encouragement that you have had positive experiences in dealing with law enforcement on these issues. I have had two separate incidents of this sort of "minor" nature and been told there was nothing that could be done by law enforcement.
But in retrospect, you are both correct and you can be sure that in the future, I will take a more proactive approach even if it is "after the fact". Thanks for all your posts.

Yep, its me. No, I am not a smoker - and I guess that's why I felt this blog was in order, because seeing these people in trouble was really troubling.

From Moderator: If you are using a computer that is tied to a central server or network, a vote will be logged whenever anyone using that particular server casts a vote. This is necessary to prevent a large company from casting votes from every single computer. As always, poll results are non-scientific due to the ways people find to get around our security measures, but we try to prevent as much tampering as possible.
