In this economy I certainly don't expect my tax dollars to go towards fireworks. Milton puts on a 4th of July event so maybe we could combine our events and split the cost.

I am all for offering Mandarin Chinese if the budget allows for it. If we have to increase taxes to offer it, no thank you. We have to remember that our education system is responsible for teaching the basics first and foremost. There is nothing wrong with offering these types of classes as a summer school program to attract students that are really interested in learning this particular language.
On Do you think schools should make the teaching of Mandarin Chinese a priority?
