A Bucky filled Weekend

By Al Fagerli ( Contact )   March 21, 2008

It's a Wisconsin triple-header Saturday. At 12:30,the UW women go for the three-peat as they play UMD in the NCAA women's hockey championship in Duluth. Wisconsin made the finals with a dominating 4-1 win Thursday over number one rated Harvard. Then at 3:20,the Badger men play their second round NCAA basketball tournament game in Omaha. This game against freshman phenom Micheal Beasley and Kansas State is going to be very difficult in my opinion. While the attention centers on Beasley,ANOTHER freshman,Bill Walker, took center stage Thursday with 22 points,17 in the first half of their minor upset of USC. Beasley did end up with his 27th double-double in 32 games this season though. Wisconsin will have to protect the ball better than they did Thursday when they turned the ball over 17 times. The day winds up with the Badger women's basketball team returning to the Field House for a game for the first time in 9 years as they play in the Women's NIT. The red and white will be all over the place Saturday.
