Girls Hockey Approved

With the approval this week of the Janesville and Beloit school boards giving the go-ahead for the formation of a cooperative girls varsity hockey team, the next steps can be taken.

At least, according to the Janesville school district, over a dozen girls are interested in participating, in Beloit the number appears to be 5 or 6, then you can add others from the Turner and Clinton districts.

It is not set in stone as yet, the WIAA has to give its approval. I don't think that will be any problem as the school districts involved are well organized.

Give credit to both school boards, the parents, and most of all the girls who have gone about trying to get their own program the right way.

Now we have to come up with a name for the team. Any ideas?
