UW-Whitewater Sports Programs continue success

By Al Fagerli ( Contact )   May 13, 2008

A year ago,the University of Wisconsin Whitewater baseball team was denied a bid to the NCAA Division III tournament, even though they had a great regular season. After they lost in the WIAC post-season tourney over the weekend, there had to be some concern about a bid for this year. Well, smarter heads prevailed this year on the selection committee and the Hawks are in. They open play later this week in Oshkosh in the double-elimination regional.

The Warhawk fastpitch team made the Division III World Series after their extra inning win over the number one ranked team in the nation Monday. The gals open play this weekend in Salem,Virginia.

The football team National Champs, the women's volleyball team into the NCAA finals, the women's basketball team made the Division III Final Four.

Just another wonderful year for the Warhawks sports programs and their fans.
