After all these years...I am cool

By Al Fagerli ( Contact )   September 28, 2009

I about fell out of my chair the other morning when on our "Marketwatch" program heard at 20 and 50 past each hour, they told me I was cool. Maybe not by name, but Al is cool. I have taken abuse for close to 30 years from some folks for my spending habits. They are close to the vest, not cheap-cheap,but very mindful in how I spend the bucks. I am not a coupon clipper, but I do keep my eye out for a bargain and am content to wait before buying something until I see if the price comes down. On the Marketwatch program, they mentioned that the youngsters are proclaiming that "Cheap is Cool". They are becoming more and more aware that the dollar doesn't go very far and the dollars themselves are in short supply.

So fellow "cheapskates"...Wave your "Cheap flag high". We have become cool.

I have a 12-year-old who snagged a used air hockey table for $5 at a rummage sale this summer who will be happy to hear how "cool" he is. :)
