Free TV shows and movies online?

By Rose Stricker ( Contact )   March 12, 2008

If you like to watch your TV shows and movies on your computer, there's a new website available starting today. www.hulu.com offers many television shows and about 100 movies... and I think it's free!

In exchange for no fees, you may have to watch a commercial or two.

Check it out. Let me know if it's as good as it sounds.

(Of course, if you prefer to catch up on missed shows on DVD, log onto Rockcat to borrow copies of your TV shows or movies at your local library.)

Thanks for the tip on the website. It will probably get shut down for copyright infringement in a short time unless it is set up differently than a number of previous tv show websites.

The other night there was nothing to watch on TV, so I watched Hulu in my living room (bought a TV card for my PC...$80-$100)...watched some Simpsons and episodes of 30 Rock I had missed. It was awesome. The picture was better than the over-the-air signal. Still had commercials to contend with, but not nearly as many as on TV.

CSI used to do this, well, they probably still do. It was nice when I missed my network shows since I work when the primetime shows are on. But my computer chair isn't comfortable. And my screen is small.
This is the perfect way to justify putting my recliner in front of the computer and investing in a huge monitor. Thanks, Rose!!!
