Project Linus receives another donation!

Here it is!

You may notice, if you compare this photo to previous yarn updates on my blog, that there is plenty of yarn and colors left over for a second afghan. So, yes, I'll be working on this blanket's blue/purple sibling next.

My neighborlady also knitted a blanket out of donated yarn. (I have since loaded her up with more yarn for another!) So, two afghans are on their way to Project Linus.

You can make an afghan or sew a quilt for Project Linus, too! If you need materials, call Judith at (608)752-9248. It won't cost you a thing!

If you want to help but you couldn't sew or knit to save your life, you can donate yarn for afghans or cloth for blankets. There are several dropoff locations including the Walmart Super Center in Beloit, Tea and Textiles in Jefferson, Fort Sew 'n Vac in Ft. Atkinson as well as Judith's house in Janesville.

Then grab your library card and log onto Rockcat to find knit, crochet, and quilt pattern books!

It's lovely Rose - and they are really appreciated. My neighbor girl recently was in the hospital and was thrilled to get a blanket!

Blankets donated at the Beloit Walmart Supercenter pharmacy are regularly received/distributed and sincerely appreciated by the area children who find security, comfort and warmth in them. Donations cannot always be directly acknowledged because many times the donors do not leave contact information - address, phone, e-mail - with their donated blankets. Without that information, there is no way to verify receipt and express Project Linus' appreciation for their hard work, creativity and caring. Donors who would like to make sure their blankets are received or who need a tax receipt should always SECURELY attach contact information to/with their blanket(s).

Back in April, my young Girl Scouts spent an entire Sunday and $400 of cookie money on supplies to make blankets for Project Linus. We delivered them to the Beloit Wal-Mart pharmacy, and never heard another word. I hope they were received.
