The One with the Bagless Vacuum Cleaner
I don't want to buy a bagless vacuum cleaner. I'm perfectly happy changing bags. Throwing them away. Not having to stuff my hand up in some canister to manually loosen some glob of unknown ick.
But, it seems I may have no choice except to buy one.
Why? Because I can't find vacuum cleaner bags to fit my current vacuum.
Okay, that's not entirely true.
Yet.
I can still find my vacuum cleaner bags at Dave's Ace Hardware in Milton.
However, the last time I visited a certain department store in Janesville, they didn't have vacuum cleaner bags. Any. They had none.
I thought this was odd, so I snagged an employee who assured me that they DO carry bags. However, she wasn't able to find them, either.
So, where I see this going is that some day the people that make my brand and size of vacuum cleaner bags will hold a meeting and discover that the only store in the United States that buys this particular bag is Dave's Ace Hardware. And they will decide that they can't make a profit on just Dave's Ace anymore, so they will stop making that particular bag.
When this happens, good old Rose Stricker won't be able to get bags for her vacuum anymore, and when her current stash of bags runs out, she'll have to buy a new vacuum instead of a new package of vacuum cleaner bags.
Yeah, I could probably poke around the internet and find some place that will sell me the right bags. But, I'm not a fan of shopping on-line.
This is probably another thing I'll be forced into eventually.
By the way, the same department store that has discontinued carrying vacuum cleaner bags has also stopped carrying vacuum cleaners that USE bags. Therefore, I will not be able to buy another cleaner with a bag, and I'll be forced into buying a bagless one... which I do not want.
Despite the way it reads thus far, this isn't about vacuum cleaners or vacuum cleaner bags. What I want you to think about is how you might have been forced into buying something you didn't really want because the things you wanted were no longer available.
For instance, the last time The Strickers purchased a new vehicle, they offered us the opportunity to add keyless entry. We said no. We were pretty happy with keys, thank you very much. But, we expected keylocks on every door. Nope. Only the driver's door has a keylock. What if our one and only keyhole froze shut in the middle of winter? What if someone parked too close to our car to open the driver's side door? How are we going to get into our locked car?
::shrug::
And speaking of vehicle features, I'd prefer a manual window. You know, a good old fashioned window crank that works whether or not the car's electrical system is functional. But, they don't make cars with those anymore.
What have you had to buy that wasn't what you wanted, but you had to buy it because the thing you did want wasn't available anymore?

I forgot about the bags. Try ebay and plug in the "model" of the bag.
Try "google" as well.
You may even save as well because it may be a generic model of your bag.
It is Sears that doesn't have any more bags? That seems weird.

You have only one key hole because you have keyless entry. Not likely that the battery would die at the same time as one of your examples.
A phone with to many buttons. I used some of them and found it is a nice feature.
You could buy a two door wrangler if you prefer crank windows.
