Do they have enough sense to come in out of the rain?
One of the Stan Milam Show listeners wondered if I had suffered a head injury when I weighed in on eligibility to participate in Major League Baseball's World Series. I appreciate the concern, but I'm sticking to my guns on this one.
No team should be allowed to participate in the World Series, unless that team has a roof over its stadium and can guarantee that all World Series games will be played on schedule and on time with no weather delays.
I would allow exemptions for those teams that agreed to play their games at another site with a domed ball park. For example, if the owners of the Chicago Cubs refused to put the team in a stadium with a roof, then the Cubs could still play in the World Series by agreeing to play those games at Miller Park. Of course this hypothetical Cubs example is moot because the Cubs will never be in another World Series.

Just what is this "Miller Park" I've heard about? My family watched the Brewers and Cubs play at "Wrigley North". There were more Cubs fans there than Brewer fans. I enjoy baseball no matter where it is played.
Put a roof on Wrigley? Now you sound like Jeff Dunham's friend Walter.

Sure a roof is "cushie" but I don't care if I had to watch and wait in the elements. Games 1 and 2 of the 2005 series in Chicago were miserable (weather-wise). I know the fans could have cared less. Looking back, I don't think the Philly fans really cared either. It was just a few more days to plan the celebration. So great -- the Brewer's play in a sterile, cushie jewel in Milwaukee. Meanwhile, those peasants who play outside are wearing the jewels.
