It's 52 or less
The Preamble to the United States Constitution contains 52 words. My blogs, all which fall far short of the wisdom made up by those 52 words, will not exceed that length.
Short and maybe not so sweet.

What's more important - the current level of educational instruction and student opportunities in public schools or no property tax increases? We are being told budget cuts alone cannot meet demands for a property tax freeze and no reduction in services. In other words, we can't have both.

It would be thoughtless for the school system to increase property taxes right now in Janesville. There are literally hundreds of homes for sale, and many are the result of unemployment.
The Administration and Board should be reexamining their main mission and directing the resources they have available to that goal. Unfortunately, this does mean that every program needs to justify how it meets the main mission. Was glad to see that the Board is looking at zero based budgeting.

Greedy politicians?
Improved Education?
The money from property taxes should be monitored for it's true intentions.
School systems should not be run by local board members who have little or no experience on education. These people spend or cut without true Knowledge or good reasons. Put people with degrees in the field of education on the school boards.
