Windmill props made in Janesville
Solar panels and wind turbines used in the USA are often imported. One of the largest domestic manufacturer of solar panels built a new factory overseas.
Gov. Doyle should make sure that some of the $2.4 billion stimulus package is used to re-tool the Janesville GM plant for future production of alternative energy products such as solar panels and wind turbines.
Janesville has a ready workforce, a facility and a history of high-quality manufacturing. Let's get going on a project that puts Rock County's laid-off workers back on the job.

It's great that Rockford got the solar panel plant. That means jobs right down the road. Sure I'd rather have it in Janesville but that's only a half hour commute so what's the problem. I'm sure Mayor Andrea Briarmoon would have thousands of new jobs in Janesville if she had just been able to throw that evil Steve Sheiffer out of town.

Stan answered his own question, if he repeats it real slow. How did the Mayor of Wisconsin Rapids get this company to build in their city? How did the Mayor. How did the Mayor. Do you get it. It's the Mayor, not the city manager. No one is working to get business in Janesville. It took them over two years just to OK Walmart.

A few weeks back there was a report G.E. could not produce the turbines and/or the generators fast enough. You may have an idea here.
Type in Google: ge turbines demand supply.
They have struggled to make the props fast enough. They went from 6months lead time to 24-36 months this last summer. They can not produce them fast enough. As for solar panels, there has been a silicon shortage for 4-5 yrs now. How about a combo plant that makes props for turbines, Toshiba's new mini nuc-reactors for self contained power to 20,000-100,000 homes, and Toshiba's nuclear batteries?

You can test them at my house! If I had the money I'd cover my roof with solar panels.
