Officials, what officials?
They are only games, but let's make sure they are played fairly and the rules are enforced properly. And, while we're at it, let correct any glaring mistakes.
The bad call that negated a recent perfect baseball game could have been corrected by reviewing the video replay which provides clear and convincing evidence of a blown call by the umpire. Because that play would have and should have been the last play of the game, the baseball commissioner could still reverse it with no lasting damage to the sport. He screwed up an All-Star game that can never be corrected, but he could correct this most recent colossal blunder.
As for the World Cup soccer game between the United States and Slovenia, it's another example of an official changing the outcome of a game. The U.S. scored a goal that would have won the game, but it was mysteriously disallowed by the official. Milwaukee radio talk show host Mark Belling believes that the blown call was intentional on the part of an official who hates the United Sates. Belling blames what he calls the global hatred of the U.S. on president Obama. It's unlikely, however, that Obama can do anything about the bad call. He couldn't even get the Olympic for Chicago.
