Here's your chance.

By Tim Bremel ( Contact )   March 31, 2010

Perhaps this year, more than any other, as I hear what seems to be more complaining than ever, I hope its not just idle chatter.

Unlike a lot of countries in this world - you get to have a say in what's happening in your community, state and country when you select representatives who help govern.

The question is: Will you take the 15 minutes it takes on April 6th to exercise one of our most important freedoms, or will you just continue to leave things as they are.

To be sure, if you like the status quo, you need to be out there supporting the incumbents just as much as those desiring change may be voting for the newcomers. One thing we must not do is "not choose". If you don't vote, you let someone else decide who gets elected and what policies get put into place (or stay in place that you wish were gone).

In our listening area, with the very local races of school boards, city council and important questions facing some of our rural school districts will you take an active role in shaping the future? Its as simple as voting you April 6th.

WCLO will have coverage of the results of your voting every half hour starting at 8:30 (with special reports in the Brewers). Please vote, won't you?

I only have missed under a handful of elections since age 18 - now turning forty in May -
Take a look at the actions by the county board to remove the ability and option to choose those who represent me by appointing a medical examiner. Then you will see the other county offices also changing to an appointed role and before too long, our US House of Representatives will be appointing US Senators again.

Sorry Tim. We don't have ENOUGH choices to even make a change.

Obama is Pres. I did not vote for him. I will complain still.

I did vote. Things will remain the same so we will still complain because like I said we do't have any choices.

What choice to we really have when there is ONLY one person to pick from on the ballot? Mickey Mouse???

I cannot belive the terrible outcome they predict of 18%. But as I stated I can see why. What is the point!?
