Get Ready, Get Set for Change!

By Tim Bremel ( Contact )   June 20, 2011

I hesitate to write this blog. Whenever I inform our listeners about changes, it means a raft of calls and emails from those who would rather have us "leave it alone".

Change, at least significant change, does not come often, or easily for WCLO. The challenges of keeping as much live and local content as is economically feasible coupled with clearing syndicated programming around our complete sports menu makes changes very difficult. But sometimes, the stars seem to align and things work out.

In this summer's case - many things all at once.

Coming this weekend, the 25th and 26th of June, will be some major changes. Lets look at Saturdays.
Some of the highlights include a new show which focuses on managing finances and saving money. "Jill on Money" will air on Saturdays at 10am.
Clark Howard follows with his consumer driven brand of common sense from 12-2pm.
Then, helpful tips for anyone who drives an automobile will abound on "America's Car Show" from 2-4pm.
I'm looking forward to a new program showcasing food and wine which will follow from 4-6pm on Saturdays.
Free Talk Live keeps its spot from 6-9pm
And finally, new in a 9pm-midnight spot, The Laura Ingraham Show will take up residence as Laura leaves our regular weeknight lineup on July 1 in favor of Michael Smerconish.

There are more changes on Sundays which I'll address in part two of this blog in a day or two.

So get set for some new and fresh programs on the weekends -- and if you haven't tuned in on Saturday or Sunday in a while - give it a shot. I think you'll enjoy it!

About time! I used to listen to the "hometown" radio station, until I found Laura. Her anti attitude about almost everything left me with a bad taste.
I wouldn't keep her on weekends either, but then, I seldom listen to radio on the weekends...

You should drop Ingraham all together. She does nothing but preach hate. You could continue your all conservative all the time approach without including such a nasty sarcastic person. I know it would be difficult to find such a conservative, but it's worth a look.
