Hangin' with Frank...enstein...
WCLO and the JPAC Players are offering local residents a rare chance to look inside their radios on Halloween night with the fifth live radio drama collaboration between the two entities.
The JPAC Players will present Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" as a radio play complete with live sound effects on the JPAC Stage at 6:30pm on October 31st. The play will be simultaneously broadcast over WCLO, AM-1230 as it happens. Following the performance, all in attendance (up to the first 300) at JPAC will receive a trick or treat bag with goodies from sponsors including Airheads candy, Bazooka Bubble Gum, Twix candy bars and more.
Watching the performers at JPAC gives you a chance to see what live radio productions were like in the earlier days of radio. Be sure to watch the sound effects table and Mike Casey who makes the story "Come alive"! Then, you can listen to the performance from the podcast here at wclo.com. I think you'll be surprised at how different the two experiences will be.
I hope you will be part of this unique opportunity and celebrate your Halloween with us. You won't even miss the sweets thanks to Spotlight on Kids and Local Vision TV who will be providing the treat bags to guests after the show.
Watch in person at JPAC or just tune-in starting at 6:30.
(And just a note - if you plan to attend the show at JPAC, there will be no seating after 6:25 so that the live program is uninterrupted, so be sure to arrive by about 6:15.)
