Welcome Mr. Beggs!

By Tim Bremel ( Contact )   September 18, 2011

Southern Wisconsin's Morning News on WCLO will feature a new voice as we welcome Tim Beggs to our morning team.

Tim Beggs will add his warmth and cheery disposition to our morning mix of news, weather, sports and information as we begin to "settle in" from a year of changes. Its been a year that has seen three different talk show hosts, as well as some shuffling of the players during our morning news. We've also had some major changes in our weekend and weeknight line-up. All-in-all, while change is not always easy, I believe WCLO is ready to enter a new phase of importance and interest to the Southern Wisconsin communities it serves.

We didn't have to look far to find a new morning team member to fit our needs on WCLO. Tim Beggs comes to us from the evening shift on WJVL, our sister FM station. Tim is one of those radio personalities that you feel right at home with from the moment he speaks. His knowledge of pop culture and current events makes him just the guy we were looking for to compliment our morning news block.
We are extremely fortunate to continue to benefit from our experienced, professional news team with Stan Stricker, Beth Wheelock and Kyle Geissler.
Al Fagerli continues to be one of the best local sportscasters in the business.
Your Talk Show is focused, more than ever, on local events and the impact of state and national events on our community.
And Michael Smerconish brings a less divisive approach to syndicated talk radio than previous weeknight programs.

Wow. That IS a lot of changes for WCLO, which rarely sees more than a single staff change ever 3 or 4 years.
But I believe we are poised for the future with people that love the business of radio and embrace the opportunity to report and comment on events, issues and news that impacts us all.

Through it all, many listeners have taken the time to weigh in on our changes, and I am grateful to have so many interested fans of WCLO. As we head into an uncertain future, rest assured that all of us here will continue our mission to bring Southern Wisconsin the best news, sports and talk programming we can.

As our friend, John Eyster says, "Here we go.."
