3160596Bower City Theatre Company has a cast that is drawn from Rock County and beyond – Milton, Janesville, Beloit, Monroe, Madison, Sun Prairie, Fort Atkinson and Middleton. They have all gathered for an opportunity to work with a veteran Broadway actor, director and choreographer, Josh Walden.

Brett Frazier, Bower city Theatre president is impressed with the local talent, “There’s an incredible amount of talent in our area and bringing those talented people together on stage here in Janesville is exactly what Bower City Theatre was formed to do. Being a part of theatre brings people together who, aside from loving to perform, might have very little in common. That’s the magic of community theatre and, believe me, this group has come from throughout the region to truly create magic.”

Josh was the Associate Director/Associate Choreographer for the Tony Nominated Broadway Revival of Ragtime and will fulfill the same role this year for the national tour.
Josh’s list of credits is long. As a performer, he was in the Broadway Revivals of 42nd St, La Cage aux Folles, A Chorus Line and Ragtime. Other highlights in Josh’s performing career include Simeon’s Gift at Bay Street Theatre with Julie Andrews, Children of Eden at The Kennedy Center with Jeremy Jordan; Camelot at The Granada Theatre with Robert Sean Leonard and the Tisch Salute at Carnegie Hall with Alec Baldwin.

He directed/choreographed The Rocky Horror Show for The University of Buffalo, Legally Blonde for Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, A Chorus Line for Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Merry-Go-Round Playhouse and Theatre Memphis and the rock opera Fallen Angel in the New York International Fringe Festival which won Best Musical.

Nicki Dougherty a Janesville Parker High School graduate who now lives in Madison, Wisconsin plays the role of Paulette and is excited to work with a professional. “The best part about working with Josh is learning from his drive, his passion, and his knowledge. I’m so grateful for everything he’s taught me and the confidence and rekindled love for theatre I’ve gained in the short time he’s been here.”
