Employees in the Janesville School District who have spouses on their health plans might have to consider paying a $50 surcharge if the school board decides to once again implement the charge.

Commissioner Steve Huth brought up the proposal at the April 14th Benefits Committee meeting.

Last year the School Board approved a $150 spousal surcharge and then quickly rescinded it after the faces on the board changed as a result of the April 2015 election.

The Janesville Board of Education will discuss the new surcharge at 5:30 Tuesday night.
