A 35-year-old convicted sex offender is being released in the Janesville area. Online court records indicate Lee A. Poffenberger of rural Janesville was sentenced to probation for first-degree sexual assault of a child in 2004. His probation was revoked in 2007. The Department of Community Corrections says he’ll be placed starting Wednesday at Rock Valley Community Programs on West sunny Lane in the town of Rock. He will be expected to comply with standard sex-offender rules including GPS monitoring.
