The Rock County Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect in the Tuesday night burglary of a Janesville area gun shop. A Sheriff’s Office news release says 32-year-old Joseph A. Jakubowski of Janesville was reportedly highly agitated recently regarding a variety of political issues. The release also states it was further reported he had made threats to steal weapons and to use them against public officials or an unspecified school. As a result, area schools were notified and the Janesville School District was among those putting their buildings on a “soft” lock-down. Deputies say more than a dozen guns were stolen sometime Tuesday night before 8:30 from Armageddon Supplies on West Highway 14 in Janesville. The sheriff’s office had circulated surveillance photo’s of a suspect before getting a tip about Jakubowski.
