Local control is very important to Milton’s City Administrator. Al Hulick joined Forward Janesville for Rock County Day in Madison Wednesday to push legislators to consider reexamining state shared revenue. Hulick says concerns about dwindling state aid, particularly in regard to infrastructure and rules against municipalities raising their own revenue, are making budgets extremely tight. Attendees were apparently pleased after their visit with State Transportation Secretary Dave Ross. Hulick says the secretary reassured them he’d like to finish what had been started in regards to the Interstate expansion project. Hulick admits he wasn’t given reason to believe the legislators would be able to effectively address their concerns in the near future though.
