(Gazette graphics)  The Janesville Police Department will be clearing vehicles off downtown streets Monday night in anticipation of Tuesday’s Town Square Gran Prix bike race. City Senior Engineer Ahna Bizjak says all streets along the race route will “hard closed” using more than one-hundred concrete barriers.  Bizjak encourages motorists, not attending the races or working downtown, to avoid the downtown area. Only the Racine Street and Centerway Bridges will remain open to traffic.  Kids races begin at 10:05 a.m. and become increasingly competitive throughout the day.  More maps and information about the races can be found on the city’s website.
