State grant to support Janesville charter school

A $650 thousand grant will help some Janesville students leave high school with both a diploma and a two-year associate degree.  The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has approved a grant for Rock University High School, a charter school run by the Janesville School District.  The grant is expected to be used over five years to help add a ninth grade and increase enrollment from 50 to about 150 students.  The money also will be used to increase programming with Blackhawk Technical College to allow the possibility of an additional two-year associate degree.
