Man suspected in shots fired incident arrested in Janesville

Janesville police assist U.S. Marshals in apprehending a 35-year-old city man wanted in connection with a shots-fired incident last month.  Police say Royal L. Powell was arrested a little after 1:00 p.m. Thursday a residence in the 1400 block of Canyon Drive.  Officers say Powell is one of two men suspected of exchanging gun fire outside a gas station in the 1900 block of Center Avenue around midnight August 17th.  One bullet went through a glass door to the station.  No one is known to have been hurt.  Powell faces charges of felon in possession of a firearm and five counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
