A 35-year-old Freeport, Illinois man is facing a number of charges following a fatal single-vehicle crash over the weekend.  The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to the crash located in a cornfield near the intersection of County Highway S and County Highway BT just after 4:00 a.m. Sunday.  Investigators determined that an SUV driven by Cori L. Reed was headed east on BT when it failed to stop at the intersection with County S, entered the ditch and rolled several times.  Reed and his front seat passenger were wearing their seatbelts.  A back seat passenger was not.  The sheriff’s office says Reed was placed under arrest on a number of charges including homicide by the intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.
