Janesville police are advising caution after an incident near Van Buren School about 8:00 a.m. Monday. Police say four elementary school girls reported being approached by a man in a dark colored gray or blue SUV who asked if they wanted a ride. The incident happened as the girls were walking west toward school near the intersection of West State Street and South Oakhill Avenue. Officers say the children did exactly what they should and sought out a responsible adult to report the incident immediately. The man is described as white with dark hair and a shadowed beard in his late 20’s to mid-30’s.
