The Ho Chunk Nation in Wisconsin isn’t too concerned about gambling legislation in Illinois affecting their plans for a casino project in Beloit.
Ho Chunk Nation public relations director Ryan Greendeer says their project will integrate with and support the Beloit community.
The Illinois state legislature approved a gambling expansion package that included Rockford as a potential casino location.
“To me, what happened in Illinois over the last week or so is that, they have a family of eight, but they went and bought a Corvette,” Greendeer told Your Talk Show on WCLO.
The Ho Chunk Nation is waiting for federal approval to move forward after releasing their final environmental impact statement.
