Prospective Beloit Snappers owner sees downtown stadium as essential for team and city’s growth

The stadium push from Quint Studer and Diane Hendricks may have saved the Beloit Snappers.

Studer told The Stan Milam Show on WCLO the city was set to lose its minor league baseball team if they didn’t come up with a plan for a new stadium to replace Pohlman Field.

He announced Thursday he will be buying the team and proposing a new stadium near the Rock River behind Beloit City Hall.

Studer believes a downtown location is critical to the project because a stadium near the interstate wouldn’t incentivize visitors to patronize the city’s businesses.

He and Hendricks are the primary drivers behind the project, and they plan to reinvest in the community and local talent.

The Beloit City Council still has to approve the project plans, and they’ll see the first proposals during a workshop Monday night.
