Immigration has become a politically divisive issue and Jose Carrillo with The Diversity Action Team of Rock County would like to dispel some of the misinformation causing social strife. Carrillo says one goal is to clear up rampant misinformation. He says a lot of information in the news is wrong. He also says many community members tend to clump immigrants under one classification, whether they’re documented or not. The Diversity Action Team of Rock County is hosting an event, “Immigration, I’ve heard it all, but what can I do?” this Thursday night, October 17, from 6:30 til 8:00 p.m. at Craig High School in Janesville. Carrillo says experts will address a number of issues including legal status, DACA, and getting a driver’s license.
