A local college is considering arming its campus security. Blackhawk Technical College Communications Director Jennifer Thompson says the board will consider the measure during its regular meeting Wednesday night. Thompson says active threats are being seen more often on college campuses. She says armed security would be better equipped to handle imminent threats. BTC is fortunate to already have security that are former law enforcement officers and already qualified to carry weapons. The board meeting will be held at 5:00 p.m. on the BTC Monroe Campus.
