A slight change in direction for the Monterey Area River Restoration project. Janesville City Manager Mark Freitag says the unusual appearance of a pelican last spring has officials considering ways to improve the waterfowl habitat in the area. Freitag says the city will be working with local groups to plan what type of plants, feeders, or houses might attract more types of birds. He says the goal is to improve the area for bird watching activities.
