The Rock County Public Health Department confirms one of the two COVID-19 related deaths in Rock County involved a patient at Oak Park Place in Janesville.

As of Monday afternoon, the senior living facility has been connected to six positive coronavirus tests, including four new cases over the weekend.

The health department said three of the four new patients are being hospitalized while one is in isolation in a separate wing of the Oak Park Place facility.

Local health officials are working with the senior home to try and contain the spread, reaching out to everyone who might have made contact with the patients. The county also sent them more personal protective equipment to help protect employees.

Rock County’s total number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 34, with 781 negative tests. The county says the age range of positive cases spans from 18-to-92 years old with an average age of 56.
