15-year-old crashes during high speed chase

A 15-year-old boy is in custody after a high speed chase on Janesville’s southwest side. Rock County Sheriff’s Deputies report seeing a vehicle run a stop sign on South Oakhill Avenue at Highway 11 about 2:30 a.m. Thursday. The sheriff’s office reports deputies attempted to stop the vehicle which fled at a high rate of speed. The chase continue west on Highway 11. The driver drove in the opposite lane, changed speeds and appeared to throw items out the window. After failing to stop at County Highway WC, the car traveled into a cornfield and overturned twice. Deputies say the juvenile fled on foot, but was captured near the treeline northeast of the crash. Deputies referred the teen to juvenile authorities on charges of felony fleeing and expect to issue traffic citations.
