Medical Examiner releases name of Milton man killed in tractor accident

The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office is releasing the name of the 69-year-old Milton man who died in a farming accident on Halloween.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says David R. Houfe had been driving a corn picker across an old concrete bridge over Otter Creek near County N when the tractor started to veer off of the bridge.
Houfe’s son brought a skid loader to try and pull the corn picker back up onto the bridge, but when Houfe put his tractor into reverse, a portion of the bridge gave way, and his picker rolled over.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived to find Houfe pinned against a grove of trees over the creek. He was pronounced dead a few hours later.
Preliminary results of the autopsy indicate that Houfe died of injuries sustained in the tractor accident.
