Rock County officials are requiring all employees at Rock Haven to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

28 people submitted public comment to the Rock County board to speak out against the mandate Thursday night.

Employees feel the policy at the county-run nursing home is unfair and causing worker shortages.

Other county departments don’t plan to make the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory.

A small number of people have had adverse reactions to their first dose, and other employees feel uncomfortable because they haven’t seen if the vaccine has any long-term effects.

Multiple Rock County board members expressed concerns over how the mandate was put into place, and the board plans to address it at its next meeting.
