A local Congressman hopes to work around the President to get construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline rolling again.

Representative Bryan Steil of Janesville says President Biden revoked the presidential permit for the project on his first day in office.

The Republican says two Wisconsin-based companies, Precision Pipeline and Michels Corporation, were awarded contracts to build the pipeline and along with other companies, employed hundreds building private sector infrastructure.

Steil’s bill bill authorizes the construction and operation of the Keystone XL Pipeline. It also clarifies that a presidential permit is not required for the construction, connection, operation, or maintenance of the outlined pipeline and border facilities.
