Janesville Police Chief Dave Moore wants a review of the local criminal justice system after a woman was killed by a man previously charged twice with attacking her.

34-year-old Jeremy Mondy of Janesville was arrested Sunday in the Wisconsin Dells for the death of a woman who was previously his victim in recent suspected domestic violence incidents.

In his most recent case, Mondy was released from jail on a signature bond earlier this month with a standard level of pre-trial risk assessment.

Chief Moore is concerned that the justice system didn’t do enough to protect the victim.

Mondy had previously threatened to kill her and was ordered by the court multiple times not to have contact with her.
