The Rock County Public Health Department is alerting the public about the local detection of one of the COVID-19 variants. Health officials say SARS-Co V-2 Variant B.1.1.7 was first discovered in England last November. Researches believe the new strain spreads more rapidly and easily than the original strain. The health department is advising everyone to keep following prevention guidelines because of the variant’s confirmation in Rock County and the recent uptick in local COVID cases.
